Hi all,
I visited the virtualbox website and checked for the "generic" linux package which is said to be:
[All distributions (built on EL5 and therefore do not require recent system libraries) i386 | AMD64 ]
Now, which is the correct version i386 or AMD64?
I have the 64bit Salix 14.2 and the 14.1 Salix 32bit as chroot... I am confused
The idea was to install virtualbox in the chroot but if there is an AMD64 package wouldn't that run in Salix 14.2 64bit without mulitlib?
Thanks for any hint.

Re: Virtualbox Installation files
I can see no reason why you should install virtualbox in the 32-bit chroot. So get the AMD64 one and install it.
Re: Virtualbox Installation files
Well,
I was confused because of the often cited statement "Virtualbox needs multilib" which I don't have and so was thinking about the chroot.
However when doing some further searching and checking it turned out the above statement is valid if one wants to compile Virtualbox from
scratch.
Precompiled packages do not require mulitlib.
So I will go for it.
Thanks!

Re: Virtualbox Installation files
Did it with 64bit files and runs smooth.
Installed a Win2k in VirtualBox (2 times. First install was corrupt as I did not follow instruction re installation of guest additions) - runs flawless (almost).
thanks
