I was unable to install opera, google-chrome and ufw by using slapt-src --install [package]. It is failing to fetch the application. Is there anyway to fix it?
Thanks.

problems with slapt-src
Re: problems with slapt-src
I think you need to update the local cache first using the command slapt-src -u

Re: problems with slapt-src
What version of slapt-src are you using? Try
first.
Code: Select all
slapt-src --clean

Re: problems with slapt-src
Your posts don't help much. You're not providing any information and you're leaving everyone do guesswork. That is not the way to get help.
All the slackbuilds you mention work just fine with slapt-src, so the problem is definitely yours.

Re: problems with slapt-src
Are you executing slapt-src -i as root. I notice that running it as a normal user it does seem to download the the files, but then you get various errors as it tries to build the package.

Yes. Users can build packages just fine. They won't be able to installl them, but they can download the sources and build the packages.laprjns wrote:gapan: should normal users be able to run slap-src at all?
Re: problems with slapt-src
I want to apoligize because I did not explain myself.
This is what I am getting when I run slapt-src --install ufw as a root:

> slapt-src --u
> slapt-src --install ufw
The following packages will be installed:
ufw
Do you want to continue? [y/N] y
It fails when it does the fetching:
Fetching http://.....Failed
Thanks...

Re: problems with slapt-src
It seems the source file for ufw is no longer there. It's not slapt-src's fault. If you want to have it fixed, contact the slackbuild maintainer and ask for an update.
But why are you trying to install it with slapt-src? A package for ufw is already available with slapt-get.
