Re: Gslapt
Google makes a bit more sense... Hello! I do not know if the problem is gslapt or me by the habits acquired by using Synaptic until recently. But it is risky desintaslar me a package and I've had two disasters. With 13.0 Salix followed the advice of this page http://www.salixos.org/wiki/index.php/H ...

Re: problem setting up wireless
I use the rt2x00 driver too and it worked fine with 13.0. When I changed to 13.1 it stopped
working and the only thing i had to do was to add the power off line to rc.local and connect
as usual with WPA2 using wicd.
I'm far from an expert myself. I hope you get it solved.

Re: problem setting up wireless
You shouldn't have to do that, wicd works great.justwantin wrote: I'm now going to try to set this up using iwconfig which I understand will require me to have wpa supplicant set up.
Doesn't the Aspire One have built-in wireless, why do you use a dongle?
What does
Code: Select all
ifconfig -a

Re: problem setting up wireless
I think you have the same chipset as i do.
Try opening a terminal and as root run this command:
Then try to connect with wicd again, and see what happens.

[Solved] Uninstalling Midori
This concerns 13.1 LXDE. I've installed Firefox and uninstalled Midori because it didn't work
correctly with some websites. There's a script that looks for
Midori and gives me errors because it's not found.
Which one is it, and where does it hide?

Re: Salix LXDE edition 13.1beta1
I've been running this for a few hours, and wow! As far as I'm concerned you can trash
the xfce version. I'll be using this one from now on.

Re: Salix 13.1RC1
Works great! It feels faster than Debian Squeeze on my hardware. 8-) I had some problems with my wireless not being detected in 13.1alpha1, didn't try the beta. The only problem I've had so far is that I have to do: iwconfig wlan0 power off for my rt73usb wireless to connect. I think it's a kernel p...

Get over it. I've changed my mind already.

Wifi problems in recent kernels.
I ran into this exact problem recently:

Since I'm using a Ralink usb wifi stick, does anyone know if these problems exist in slackware-current?
P.S. I Installed Salix again.
