Re: Salix is great!

I think you are right...

I love Chromium and it only works perfectly with Flash if I have Salix/Slackware on my laptop. I had problems with it when I was running sidux and Mint. Arch was ok but the distro is not very stable in my opinion.

Re: Salix is great!

I have noticed that Salix in my laptop is kind of a memory hugger. After start-up, it consumes from 150-185 Mb of RAM and with Google Chrome browser at least 250-285 Mb. Is this normal? You have to install seamonkey-solibs from Salix repository by using Gslapt if you want. I have not had any problem with Chrome so far. But if you want ...

Re: Chrome

Arora browser is good but Chrome is a better option since it offers true sandboxing and has plenty of plugins.

Salix is great!

Salix is great! So far, it is doing what I want. It is simple and of course it is Slackware-based. Google Chrome is working perfect with Flash and I just have what I need. I am very suprised the way Gslapt handles the updates. I think all it needs is a firewall like Gufw or Firestarter. Perfect...! ...
