Re: Konsole dependency on kde-baseapps
As a side note: Yakuake (drop down terminal application) requires Konsole which in turn requires a kde-baseapps install.

Re: Caps Lock key as Ctrl key?
I found a thread in the Xfce forum that contained a workable solution: 1) From the settings menu select 'Session and Startup' 2) Select the 'Application Autostart' tab 3) Click the 'Add' button 4) Use whatever Name and Description you see fit 5) Enter /usr/bin/setxkbmap -option "ctrl:nocaps&quo...

Caps Lock key as Ctrl key? [Solved]
I would like to change my key bindings so my Caps Lock key will function as my Cntrl key and my Cntrl key will function as my Caps Lock key. I have not had any success reading the XFCE documentation, it mentions an xfce4-xkb-plugin and I see it is installed but I have no idea how to access it, (trie...

Re: Question concerning blacklisting packages
All thaat said, if you've got multilib set up, add a regexp or two to the EXCLUDE line and you won't be troubled by updates. You may also have some success adding Alien Bob's repository, with CUSTOM priority. Well, the only real thing I've decided, is to not give up. I think I'm leaning toward keep...

Re: Question concerning blacklisting packages
Well after working most of the day trying to install wine I am going to have to concede defeat. I think the simple solution would be to just dual boot Mint and work in Mint when I need to use the few Mac/Windows programs I still need. I wanted to go Salix all the time but it seems to me all the opti...

Question concerning blacklisting packages
I am trying to add multilib capability to Salix following the instructions on the Slackdocs site Alien Bob (ref: quick and dirty instructions). http://docs.slackware.com/slackware:multilib?s[]=multilibby He specifically states: If you use a package manager like slackpkg you will have to add all the ...

Re: Sourcery and Slackbuilds.Org
Our mirror of the slackbuilds.org repository now includes limited dependency support. It uses only the data in each SlackBuild's .info file and these are written with the assumption of a full Slackware installation, so some dependencies may be missing in some cases Ahh - good to know. I was not awa...

Sourcery and Slackbuilds.Org
Does Sourcery include a complete set of the packages in Slackbuilds.org? Or perhaps better stated, does it mirror the Slackbuilds package set or does it exclude some packages or include additional packages not found in Slackbuilds.org? I'm not looking for a list of specific packages just wanting to ...

Re: New Editions
Don't worry, we are working on it and it will be before mid-year, but not so shortly Ok, I get it, I know exactly what you mean, at least I think so, ..well maybe, ...kinda? :? ;) There is also slackel, which is KDE-based (and now Openbox, too). Search this forum or the web for more information. Ye...

New Editions
Will there be new desktop editions of Salix 14.0 coming out like the one's currently available in 13.37? I am particularly interested in KDE. If yes, can you give any rough estimate as to a time line. I understand and appreciate the "when it's ready" principal, just looking for a rough app...
