Hello,
Since a few weeks I'm trying to get my DVB tuners working in salix. So far no succes. The tuners are a MSI usb and a ezcap tuner (the box says it works under linux and the cd contains software - it doesn't work. The V4L site tells that both tuners can work. At that point I'm as newbie losing it. I tried to follow the advice in:
http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/EzCap_DVB_T_Stick
and in:
http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/MSI_D ... ni_II_V3.0
Can anyone please help me out?
best regards,
anttel

Re: dvb salix 13.37
Plug in the devices and provide the output of lsusb and lsmod | grep dvb. There are different versions of these devices available and perhaps you have to build the needed modules yourself.
If you really need to build stuff yourself you first want to install the kernel source:
slapt-get -u
slapt-get -i kernel-source
Then the kernel source will be in /usr/src/linux. This may help you to follow the linked articles.

Re: dvb salix 13.37 [SOLVED]
Hi,
It's been a while since my last post about this subject. Since last week my DVB-t USB (MSI Digivox Ultimate HD) is working for me in Salix 13.37.This MSI is a ite 9135 model (http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/ITE_IT9135) Here are the steps I took:
- upgraded the kernel to 3.3.6 -> http://www.salixos.org/forum/viewtopic. ... nel+update
- installed vlc 1.1.13 -> http://connie.slackware.com/~alien/slac ... pkg/13.37/ (It's replaced with vlc 2.02). I didn't try this version of vlc...
- downloaded the firmware: http://www.ite.com.tw/uploads/firmware/ ... it9135.zip
- copied the firmware into /lib/firmware
- rebooted
- vlc recognized the MSI DVB-t USB device and I could start scanning channels (with TVtime I couldn't get so far) and I saved a playlist.
Best regards,
anttel
