How about a tiling window manager version ?

Hello everyone!

Excuse my english again...

I don't know a distro with a tiling window manager by default.

It would be great if Salix OS was the first!

I think about ScrotWM which is fast, easily configurable and stable.

This may not be in the "KISS" spirit but it could well expand horizons...

Why not?

I saw a friend of mine using awsome (on Arch Linux). This seems a very good tiling window manager.
It's a bit weird but could be handy for some people. If someone would make a version with one, I may try using it a while but I think I prefer classic window manager.

scrotwm is in the repo but awesome isn't
if you want to try awesome user rhadamanthys made some packages for salix, just search the forum for the awesomeWM thread

another tiling WM worth mentioning is xmonad, available from slackbuilds.org, it's a HUGE download and has lots of dependencies but it has good reviews and it's pretty extensible

I'm a very big fan of tiling window managers.

Here's - from Arch Wiki - a comparison of most popular and known ->https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co ... w_Managers

I've found i3 http://i3.zekjur.net/ and stumpwm http://www.nongnu.org/stumpwm/index.html most attractive.
I3 has excellent multimonitor support & stumpwm can be hacked on the fly.

None of them are in salix repos.
