SalixLive-KDE-beta8 (680MB)

Here it is:
http://www.slackel.gr/isos/salixlive-kd ... 13.1.1.iso
http://www.slackel.gr/isos/salixlive-kd ... .1.iso.md5

it is based in the upcoming salix-kdebeta8.iso which has the latests corrections, mysql, libvncserver, etc

I hope tomorrow to upload the salix-kde-13.1.1-beta8.iso as well.

Please test it. I did not test the installer, lilosetup etc. The latest versions from akuna are included.

Some comments from me.

* Mouse pointer integration does not work out of the box in VirtualBox. Though, it does not work for me with lxde either without installed the guest additions, but with xfce no problem so far also without guest additions. I wonder about the reason, is it related to xorg.conf?

* When I clicked into the VBox window, the mouse pointer switches to be grapped. But it is not possible to click somewhere, for instance to start an application. :?

I gonna try it also to install natively.
.. to be continued ..

~680MB, mind having a few Qt games with it?

Peg-E (QT4 Solitaire Game)
Tubularix (Qt4 Tetris 3D)
I'm proposing to add Peg-E and Tubularix to the KDE edition since:
1) They're special and not common which could somewhat be used as a trademark to identify with Salix OS KDE.
2) Qt is already installed and these two are smaller than a 1 MB (and the Qt4 Tetris game is better than the others in the salix repo (I'm using them too, :P))

Vbox mouse integration worked perfectly out of the box here.

Great work! This version definitely feels faster than the two previous ones.

Performed a full install with no problems. I also used LiveClone to produce a customized Live CD + isolinux with no problems. I will continue to test both utilities further with different options but so far, so good.

One suggestion: lock the desktop widgets.

:)

Hmm, maybe then a challenge with that VBox version, I got it as a RPM.
[ Strange that this issue is only with kde and lxde, but not with xfce. ]

Please solve this problem with your distro's (fedora) forum. Salix forum is actually primarily meant to be used by (surprise...) Salix users. Tx ;)
Not that it is a problem to have occasional interaction with other distro users. But it is getting to be a real problem to have some other distro users like you squat this forum, occupy all the place, give wrong impressions & leave no room for its rightful users.

This RPM is from the official virtualbox.org repository for yum.
