Chromium browser
Re: Chromium browser
A first shot at a x64 package for 13.1: http://gaia.homelinux.org/salix/miscpac ... -428ab.txz
Notice, it's only a very first version and also I'm writing this from that chromium build, no guarantees. It's especially missing stuff like icons, menu entry, etc still. If I got some time and feel like it, I might make a SLKBUILD from that SlackBuild thenktor posted incorporating also the changes from his chromium package. And if I get a working 32bit chroot, there might also be a 32bit build.
Don't be careless about building this. Expect around 11GB of memory usage!!! Don't set JOBS higher than your number of cores. I suggest you build with nice -n19 and ccache. The first one hopefully minimizes freezes (your system is unresponsive for hours though) and ccache allows you to rebuild nearly as if it was a normal package (i.e. much less memory usage and a mostly responsive system).

Re: Chromium browser
@ Shador: On a short test your package works.
@ all: I'm on a PC running Suse at the moment. I've installed Google Chrome. But now google.de has some damn background image. How do I remove it? I only can find the button to change it.
EDIT: The issue was a google test and not chrome related

Re: Chromium browser
Hi,
I created packages containing the chromium web browser. Feel free to use and test them. Please report any bugs, I adapted the build instructions from the build script available at Archlinux. Everything seems to work fine right now.

You can get Chromium from the darkstar.ist.utl.pt repositorymeanpt wrote:I can't find it in repositories. Is it available?
Code: Select all
http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-13.1/
In order to use this repository, you need to add it to your repository lists in /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc:
Code: Select all
SOURCE=http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-13.1/:CUSTOM
Next update the slapt-get package database with:
Code: Select all
slapt-get -u

Re: Chromium browser
Just download the *.txz file and install it manually :: installpkg *.txz. I deleted Firefox and I am currently using Chrome. I love it!
