Salix MATE 13.37RC2

Salix MATE 13.37RC2

Postby gapan » 7. May 2012, 22:12

Here is an updated second release candidate for our MATE edition. There have only been very small changes since RC2. These include security fixes for adobe flash and the wicd network manager and some minor fixes in the mate-utils package, to fix a bug where the dictionary would not launch if it was the very first thing a fresh user started.

Salix MATE 13.37RC2 (32-bit):
(size: 611MB, md5: f2171a4a6e5899572977fed71c2a7103)
Sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/salix/f ... o/download
Salix64 MATE 13.37RC2 (64-bit):
(size: 602MB, md5: 1f6d798994d7c1efc52ce3b38398d977)
Sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/salix/f ... o/download

Let's try these for a couple of days, just to be sure there are no outstanding bugs so we can release them as final. :)

Can I request a feature? Please include the package mate-menu-editor (Mozo, an Alacarte fork) in this edition.

Also, MATE apparently features a "Desktop Settings" menu - or is it a MINT-developed tool?

No, certainly not for a default installation. There is no reason any user would need to edit the menu. I might add the package in the repos, but I'm still completely against using it.

I have no idea where that comes from. And you can definitely change all those options inside mateconf-editor.

I disagree, but understand. I mean, the main reason people rejected GNOME 3 was the complete lack of graphical customization tools... I humbly ask you to add the package in the repos.
