Just noticed this myself now. Don't know both should be working fine now. I'm not on Salix 32Bit now, but they definitely do on 64Bit.

The software package mozilla-firefox-l10n-de has definitely no effect on Salix 32Bit.

Did you enable it in Firefox's plugins page? You have to do that for every update since FF 8.0.
