Recently installed salix 13.37 fluxbox release and like it. Have a strange problem I cannot figure out. Hard drive light stays on once I boot up until I pm-suspend as root. Then it goes out and stays out. Have experienced this issue with several other nix distros. While in others works perfectly. This is getting to be really annoying and would like help in figuring it out.
On the verge of just saying salix flux just wasn't meant to be on this old PC.
It's 8-9yrs old, P 4 ... 2.8ghz 32bit. Not sure what the cause is. Initially thought the culprit could be acpi or summin. Added acpi=off ... then later acpi=force to see what it'd do in the grub menu. Nope ... same thing, hard drive light stays on until I suspend and resume.

Re: hard drive light
Unplug the hard drive LED cable, it's useless anyway. Problem solved

Re: hard drive light
That's really weird - you sure you don't have the PWR/HDD leds swapped?
I have a computer that doesn't mark the polarity on the motherboard LED pins so the lights were either always on or didn't work at all. A loose harddrive cable could also be the culprit.
