Nice, everything seems to work here. Tried the different views, deactivated and activates various apps, and starting all applets without problems. I did have a slight problem realizing that when you activate an applet you also had to choose a category. I'm chalking that up to a "senior" moment.

Well there could be some simplification later on, but I first wanted to ensure there was no confusion with all kind of possible combination of choices, do and redo, and annulate, etc...

Plus also the fact that this configuration only happens rarely, so probably not a very big hurdle.

There will be a help button to document this in good time.

Looks like a Great project!
W/O having to read all 9 pages on the thread would someone tell me what was the creation format for the project?
Such as language and tools and did it spawn from another Control panel project.

I am interested as I once did a Control Panel Project..different of course.. and I am interested..

Project started from scratch. Python, with Glade3 and a bit of PyGtk.

The idea that differs is to allow the end user to personalize the look but also the choice of utilities that show up as well as the categories they are organized under.

This could also be useful to other distros as well since the configuration file allows you to easily change the title and main icon of setupcenter.

Since most DE sport their own user's setup panel, SetupCenter only deals with system wide administration. It's quite basic compared to your KDE control panel.

By saying "your KDE control panel"...are you referring to the KDE control panel that installs with KDE or the KDE contol panel that I developed??
I wanted to download and examine/use your control panel but the links in this thread to download the panel seem to be broken..
