Hi, my name is Sean. I'm from Portland, Or. I'm 29 years old and have been using Ubuntu/Linux Mint for the last 3 years. Both those distros are fine distros, but after 3 years of using them I wanted to learn more about Linux, so I started looking into distros like Arch Linux, I decided the installation of Arch might be biting off more than I could chew at the moment (plus I only have one working machine right now - my desktop died - so if anything went wrong I wouldn't be able to troubleshoot.) and began looking into Slackware and found Salix in the process through Distro Watch. I have to say, that so far, I've learned more about Linux in the last week or two than I did in 3 years with Ubuntu & Mint. I figured out how to compile programs from source fairly easily, I've only ran into one problem so far. and since I figured how to customize it I'm also loving the XFCE desktop, which I'm surprised - I hated Xubuntu (been using Gnome up until now)
