Yep. Looks like a bug in glibc 2.12.2: http://www.spassets.com/forums/linux.arch.devel/328651

Is there a chance to have XFCE 4.8 (4.7 RC) in Salix 13.2 :?:
I am asking because LibreOffice is planned to be included, anyways that only a RC is available currently.

Highly unlikely.

It all depends on who-knows-when Slackware 13.2 is released... alas, XFCE 4.8 is supposed to be released today.

I tried to install the alpha in VirtualBox. For guest additions, I had to install kernel-source additionally. The build of the module did not work to load, so I upgraded the kernel to the huge package, executed lilo and reboot. Then, I get a frozen console, no mouse and no keyboard any more available.

Yes, installation of the kernel-source has been required to build the, modules on all slackware built kernels since 2.6.28.
As for not VB install not working, I suggest you try reinstalling. I've got both the 32 & 64 alphas running without any problems on VB 4.0 PUEL

Excellent work guys! This alpha works a treat! Apart from requiring a reinstallation after deciding to try upgrading the kernel (resulting in my laptop restarting every time after a successful BIOS check), I have yet to encounter any issues. :)

After the latest batch of updates, I can't run 13.2alpha1 from virtualbox.
It stops at:
Code: Select all
Loading Linux_

And then it hangs.

Suggestions?
