Liveclone USB 2 GB persistence with xfce 13.1.2 work slow

Postby coco » 14. Nov 2010, 22:08

Sorry for my english.

I have a usbkey 8 GB with liveclone xfce 13.1.2; 2 GB swap partition and 6 GB fat32 (2 GB persistence), the system works well but too slow in my opinion compared to other similar distros as pclinuxos xfce running ext3 partitions.

Why it works so slow?

Pentium M centrino 1,6 Mhz with 1 GB RAM and 128 MB videocard.

Thanks

You answered part of your own question. FAT32 will be slower than ext3. That is definitely part of the problem.

BTW, your English is fine :D

Hmm.. that is LiveClone fault here who defaults on using fat32 partitions.

Sorry about that. Next version will add format choice. ;)

With pclinuxos is possible to use ext3, Can I create a liveusb with pclinuxos from an iso salix?

As soon as I get some time, can't give a precise dateline.

I would think not. ;)
