For those who still make use of AV tools under Linux (especially when forwarding attachments to windows hosts) a special application has been developed in order to provide single GUI for multiple scanning engines (amongst them, Clamav, Avira, AVG, Bitdefender, Kaspersky and other). Project is called Penguin Pills and is currently hoster at Sourceforge.net at http://sourceforge.net/projects/penguinpills/files/.
I have tested it using Clamav as scanning engine and works great. Maybe not that useful for experienced users but for an install for newbies it could be helpful to have a GUI for scanning potentially malicious files.
