Java plugin?

Post by witek »

I noticed that Java plugin stopped working somehow in Firefox. It seems icedtea-web and openjre are installed.
strange, it used to work some time ago. What happened?

Can anybody confirm this in Salix 14 ?

Yes. Unfortunately the icedtea-web package is broken. We'll have to update it.

There are now new icedtea-web packages in the repos. Those should fix everything.

Is it safe to assume (for testing purposes) that RC1 + upgrade is identical to RC2?

Mostly yes. The only other difference so far is that I have disabled the screensaver by default. There have been a few cases with graphics cards crashing with some screensavers, so I think it's better like this.

How do you reenable it? I know I could find out, but I am lazy  Seriously, it is good to have that on record in the forum.

Actually, perhaps the best place would be in the final release announcement.

OK but that only works if you're using XFCE. But fair enough ;) (I am using XMonad). I still think it merits a mention in the final release announcement.
