is http://salix.enialis.net/i486/slackware-13.0 down???

I changed my slapt-getrc to point to this server but slapt-get -u hangs and does nothing.

Yes, the enialis.net server is down at the moment. JRD is trying to fix it. But you can switch to the salixos.org server for now, or even permanently:

Which mirror server is better to use as default?

I switched - due to the problems with eniails - to salixos.org as the "preferred" one, maybe permanently.

salix.enialis.net - 8 hops for (ping ca. 32 ms)

download.salixos.org - traceroute stops after the 7. hop (ca. 33 ms) and continues displaying only *** ...

As enialis is the default mirror after installation it is good when some people switch to alternate mirrors ;)
