My In. connection died last night.

Sorry I missed this one:
SOURCE=http://salix.enialis.net/i486/13.37/:PREFERRED

This is the same as in our HP-2133:

SOURCE=http://salix.enialis.net/i486/slackware-13.37/:OFFICIAL
SOURCE=http://salix.enialis.net/i486/slackware-13.37/extra/:OFFICIAL
SOURCE=http://salix.enialis.net/i486/13.37/:PREFERRED

Now this morning when I have a very fast connection I clicked on update and after running it
the spook of odd downgrades is gone. Only one update "flash" showed.

The whole problem came when I changed to :
#DISABLED=ftp://slackware.org.uk/salix/i486/slackware-13.37/:OFFICIAL
#DISABLED=ftp://slackware.org.uk/salix/i486/slackware-13.37/extra/:OFFICIAL
with the new Int. Provider. Good I still maintain the old one.

Changing the mirrors did not cause the problem. Removing the salix repository caused the problem.

Agree, however,
ftp://slackware.org.uk/salix/i486/slack ... :PREFERRED
was not in slapt-get. I added it now.

And you just blew it again. That is not a salix repository. That is a slackware repository.

Is your new ISP the Chinese government? ;) :D
Seriously, I don't see why a french server dedicated to salix should be inaccessible. It's not like its hosting bomb building instructions or anything. I would file a complaint.

Yes, I did complain and got the first month with that new server for free. This is not the only
site I cannot open. The problem is they send contractual technicians which have little idea
and their knowledge ends with opening the portal site and a speed test site. It is very
time consuming to contact the server at their offices.
