Re: Salix OS+Firefox = Chromium OS??
I've done that for presenting a website in a forum (a real one, not a virtual one), so that people can use the computer without me having to be too carefull of what they can do. In fact it is very easy, just write a custom xinitrc. For me I was running a bash script that run firefox, and if firefox ...

Re: Salix Xfce 14.0 Live
Well an alpha is mostly done. But the installer is buggy right now, and of course, as this is an alpha, there are lots of bugs. I don't know if I will make this alpha publicly available or only for the team, waiting for a beta to be done to make it public. Unfinished things could be a bad idea as mo...

Re: 1337_xfce

Re: Re-compressing Squash Live Image with Updates
I have no problem in upgrading or recompressing a squashfs image. The problem is not technical, but in the organisation.

Re: Salix Xfce 14.0
Thanks DavidMcCann. About encryption on the installation process, it could be possible I guess to add this, but one has to take this task. Unfortunately, no one in the team use /home encryption I think. But as the installation process is not complicated and is hosted in Git (on github), one could tr...

Re: Re-compressing Squash Live Image with Updates
We are aware of this problem. But so far, we didn't find a decent solution for managing (big) upgrades on a Live session. Maybe by providing upgraded squashfs files that you just replace on your USB key. But this will only work for writable medias. Maybe we should release another version of Salix Li...

Re: Salix Xfce 14.0 Live
I would have wanted to make the Live version ready for when the regular version is released...but I've been short in time recently. Could not work on it before the next week. I hope it will be quick to make a Live version and I hope to make one before Christmas...or maybe between Christmas and New Y...

Re: Salix Xfce 14.0
Hum weird. I have no idea at all why you have this problem with your keyboard. Is your keyboard not working only under X or also in real Linux console?
What type of bootloader do you use, Lilo or grub2?

wine is 32 bits only. You need to install some 32 bits compatibility packages for this to work. Search for multilib and alienbob.

Re: Latest SaLT and Liveiso images can't boot from cd/dvd ro
Ok right.
I experienced some problems too with isohybrid, so that does not surprise me. I think we could try to use xorriso instead of isohybrid, it uses a slightly different mechanism for putting a hard drive header in a ISO, and it may work better on some bioses than the plain old isohybrid.
