Hum, I don't see the link between the detection of the partition type to mount AFTER booting the initrd and before passing the process to the distribution itself (here Slackel) and the problem you mentioned djemos, which is a message from grub (2), so BEFORE booting the initrd, so BEFORE reading any...

It happens also on regular installation, depending on the network driver and the order the bios list devices (which can change from one boot time to another). I just simply say that no one wants to package it. So you're free to use the script you found, package it and maintain it yourself for Salix, or use another software.

Useless for me. Remmina could be used for that. Furthermore you can ssh with any terminal emulator. What do you need putty for on Linux ?
