Re: New WD Superspeed USB 3.0 and Salix64 KDE 13.37
So it worked and stopped working at some point? Could be some damage with the filesystem then. If so you can fsck the filesystem with Windows.

Re: Cairo-xcb for awesome window manager
You should highly favour building packages on a clean system. That's because production systems are always polluted in the one or other manner or get so with time. Not so much because of the machine more because of us. :D Some possible solutions are chroots, virtual machines (virtualbox, qemu, ...) ...

Re: Cairo-xcb for awesome window manager
I'm not sure I said this right, but what I meant was having cairo and cairo-xcb both available in the repo with vanilla cairo installed by default and the xcb-enabled version available to replace cairo if needed. It doesn't really matter whether the package is named cairo-xcb or just cairo. Both so...

Re: Vice 2.3 with ethernet enabled
There seem to be no major problems here. At a quick look everything seems alright. Go ahead with the ticket. The package is then going to be tested and reviewed and you'll be given the possibility to correct problems if any. On a sidenote you don't need to ask for every package before creating a tic...

Re: Cairo-xcb for awesome window manager
I used SlackBuild to make the cairo package, so it is not useful for package submission as a Salix package ticket. That's not the point. Although SLKBUILDs are favoured, SlackBuilds are not forbidden. Nobody said that anywhere in the bugtracker either. an alternative cairo package with xcb enabled ...

Re: Trouble with lilosetup
The problem seems to be that on current still the stock Slackware lilo package is used which doesn't provide the salix.bmp. If you symlink that file as suggested by laprjns on the maillist, I'm sure it'll work:
Code: Select all
ln -s /boot/slack.bmp /boot/salix.bmp

Re: Submitting packages
Yes, but I'm in no position to judge what is causing it. I've got no role assigned with the soourceforge project I know of that would allow me any access beyond that any sourceforge user has. It's why I've got no way to find the cause. Apart that's why I'm clueless why I can see that button and you ...

Re: Submitting packages
I've got a "Create Ticket" button above the "View Stats" one. And I'm not assigned any special role with the sourceforge project.
