Re: install-on-USB bug ?
Hi, I use the build script provided by SALIX for build the both releases of grub2 (1.97.2 and 1.98) on the Slackware 13.0 Linux Box. I try the both releases (reset the salixlive partition before all run with mkdosfs) : - 1.97.2 release : boot with splash screen - 1.98 release : no boot with grub err...

Re: install-on-USB bug ?
I use the correct syntax when I do the test, /dev/sdX1 is used with mkdosfs and /dev/sdX when I re-ran grub-install on Slackware. It's a mistake when I write the post  I will try to use the packaging script used by Salix for building grub2 with the last grub release on Slackware, and make new ...

Re: install-on-USB bug ?
About grub-install, are you sure you installed grub2 and not grub ? My script didn't detect explicitly grub2, so if you have installed grub1 instead, it will not tell you. On this post http://www.salixos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=790&start=0 , I was confronted with the problem of grub ...

Re: 13.0.2a : usersetup bug
Make sure you upgrade the salixtools package before trying anything. I look into the "initrd" of the install cdrom and it seems that "usersetup" is lanched with chroot on the new root installed partition (is it right ?). For do the suggested upgrade, should I replace the package...

Re: 13.0.2a : usersetup bug
In fact, I don't create a user during the install process (I don't know that is a necessary action), and I try to do this after the first boot in console mode (root login not granted with gdm). This new Salix Install is on a multiboot laptop with some linux distro and a shared home partition. My &qu...

13.0.2a : usersetup bug
Hello, Because the 'user manager GUI' doesn't propose the modification of the home directory of a user, I launch usersetup in console mode with root account. After successfully creation, I can see 2 bugs : 1) home directory is correct in passwd file but all file for the default environment are copie...
