Re: Salix Design
Greybird theme??? In 2022??? Suggestion here was about modernizing, not about 'vintageizing'... Windows 2000 Linux theme adaptation and a 'Windows 95 style'-like wallpapers? Also, nobody cares for the 'open culture license', or for the license at all, if the images are bad. Better buy one high-qual...

Re: Fix screen tearing in Xfce (Intel)
Installing compton from Sourcery failed for me... That is unfortunate but it is unmaintained anyway. At least we can fix it ourselves. ;) You can try the modesetting DDX driver instead of the Intel one. Fixes issue on many Intel GPUs. Do as root, mv /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-intel.conf /usr/sha...

Re: Slackware 15
XFCE is the sanest desktop environment available currently. Runs equally good on older hardware. And no matter what people think or say, not everybody in the world uses computers with eight core CPU, 32 GB of RAM, RTX 3090 and 4K display. With a bit of a work, XFCE can be made to look as good as an...

Re: Looking forward to 15.0
Now that Slackware has adopted PAM in 15.0 this should be a simple decision. You (gapan) mentioned in your blog post loooong ago that the primary reason for not going with LightDM was its dependency on PAM and PAM at the time of writing that post wasn't part of Slackware. https://blog.salixos.org/p...
