Thanks again gaucho,
have not installed yet think i'll give lxde a try first.
I have salix xfce installed on another machine and it's working fine.
I already have my partitioning done though.
XFCE fonts looked terrible on this machine LXDE is much better in that department.
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Salix 13.37 xfce live cd boot but garbled desktop screen
Thanks gaucho,
That cheat code did the trick. now writing this on the live xfce cd in the Nvidia machine. will try it out a little and if all is well will install.

Re: Salix 13.37 xfce live cd boot but garbled desktop screen
Your video card is probably not compatible with the nouveau driver that is being used by default. It will probably work just fine if you install the proprietary nvidia driver. Thanks gapan, I believe your right. but the nouveau driver has always worked on this machine before so just thought that so...

Re: New To Salix
Thanks for the Welcome gaucho, I'll read over the links you gave. I've used about every distro out there over the years Started out way back in 1993 with Slackware believe it or not and so this is a coming back to that of sorts Find Salix OS very easy to learn and get going. Have got one machine up ...

New To Salix
Just thought I'd say Hello,
firs time Salix user here.
but have used slackware before the install went very well and I'm finding my way around.
Looks very good so far.
Think I will enjoy Salix.
Thanks to all the Dev's
