Re: Salix Xfce 14.1RC1
I can't help with the EFI unfortunately, have older hardware, but I installed on my laptop first (Dell D410) with no problems (the next up is a Sempron Esprimo), the first obligatory updates and wireless all fine, and will add a few of my own things I use at home, finish the installation, also set u...

Re: Firefox not starting after upgrade on Salix 13.0
Oops, that was my fault. I upgraded firefox by accident in 13.0 as well, while I shouldn't have. It needs a version of gtk newer than the one in 13.0, so it will never work there. I have reverted the upgrade in the repos. So, the solution is to go back to version 17 (and unfortunately stay with tha...

Re: I was looking for the latest Salix .iso with LXDE
LXDE was never fully packaged for 14.0. So, if you installed any version of 14.0, you'll never be able to install LXDE (without compiling the packages that are missing or without getting them from a different source). The latest version with LXDE was 13.37 (and there was an iso with it, you can fin...

Re: How to Edit LILO to Boot Linux by default
... I tried to edit /etc/lilo.conf and rebooted but that did not change anything. ... The difference is that grub (and maybe windows, I don't know) boots in two stages, the second stage being to read the config file, which is why you can change a config file in grub and a reboot will see that. Lilo...

Re: Printer driver
Configured my brother printer as per startup guide but am unable to print a test page. Any suggestions. Updated mirrors as well if that helps. Printer is Brother 2040. What startup guide? I used the Brother site for my DCP-135C. Worked with a bit of tweeking. The same page but for your printer woul...

Re: Please change your repository mirror!
As you have probably noticed by now, the server that hosted the main Salix repository at salix.enialis.net has had a lot of downtime. Unfortunately, that server was set as the default after a new Salix installation and most users would never think of switching to another.... Yup, have noticed! And ...

Re: Quick question about FFesr and security updates [solved]
So is Firefox calling home even though it is set to "never check for updates"!? That's how it looks like. Tell us how it goes with the locale package. I have a feeling that I'm not having any weird notifications because I'm using a locale package. Hi gapan, I thought I would wait a day or...

Re: Quick question about FFesr and security updates
http://forum.salixos.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4873 Thanks gapan, I should have done a search first. Interesting. So if I understand correctly I have already done this update and for some reason FF has decided I still need it? I looked at localization since you mentioned that in the link, I have...

Quick question about FFesr and security updates
I have my system (13.37 lxde) current, for the last week or so I have been getting a message that there is an important security update for FF 15.0.8esr (which I have, no updates pending). It looks official enough, but it seems like a FF message instead of a Salix one (the "updates pending"...

Re: epub readers
I used this build script http://people.salixos.org/fredg/packages/ppub/1.0/SLKBUILD I get an error: $ ppub Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/ppub/ppub.py", line 22, in <module> from gi.repository import Gdk, Gtk, GObject, WebKit ImportError: No module named gi.repository...
