Just a quick update if anyone is interested:
Not sure why I didn't think to try this before, but I downloaded, booted, and successfully installed the SalixLive 14.2 release. I still can't figure out why I'm having issues with the non-live release of 14.2.

Re: Error launching USB install
Sorry for taking so long to respond. To date, I have tried multiple USB sticks, 3 being brand new and the other 2 freshly formatted. When I use dd and unetbootin, they all complete and I'm able to see the contents of the USB stick. I have checked the integrity of the md5sum each time I downloaded th...

Re: Error launching USB install
Thanks, again, for the reply. I tried multiple sticks, with one being brand new. I'm going to try using unetbootin to see if that works better. I'll update the post with my findings.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Error launching USB install
Hello all, I'm having an issue installing Salix 14.2 from USB. When I boot the install, I receive the following error message: Unregistered Exception Handler I've used both dd if=image.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=4M and dd if=your-salix-iso-image.iso of=/dev/sdb to "burn" the ISO to USB but neither...

Re: Salix Xfce 14.0beta1
Just out of curiosity, with the 13.x releases, I had to build the Broadcom 4312 wireless drivers. Are they included in the 14.x release or will they still need to be built? No worries if I still need to build them. I'm just curious to know what I'll need to do if I download and start testing. Thanks!

Re: Issues with Broadcom BCM4313 wireless chipset
Now that I have the latest kernel running, I thought it might be a good idea trying the tutorial at http://www.salixos.org/wiki/index.php/How_to_install_b43_firmware_for_Broadcom_Wireless_cards again. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the wireless working. Would trying Network Manager instead of W...

Re: Issues with Broadcom BCM4313 wireless chipset
By the way, I should clarify. I'm not disappointed in Salix. Salix is a great OS. I'm disappointed in the choice of chipset in this laptop. My next machine is coming from System76 so I know all of the hardware should work with the latest kernel. I'm not giving up on making this work. I currently hav...

Re: Issues with Broadcom BCM4313 wireless chipset
I forgot to run iwconfig to see if there are extensions. No Wireless Extensions found, unfortunately.
